SANTA HELENA POLO FARM
Santa Helena is a family run, world class polo farm, owned and run by
the Junqueira Novaes family, where guests are welcomed in true Brazilian
style with unsurpassable hospitality. Both polo playing guests and non-playing
guests are welcomed, with or without their family and friends.
Playing guests are welcomed at all levels from complete beginners through
all handicaps to veteran polo players who would like to revisit the
thrills of the sport in true style.
Silvio Junqueira Novaes is the head of the family and his enthusiasm
for the game, combined with his vast polo experience will ensure players
of all levels will benefit greatly.
The Junqueira Novaes family is well known for their hospitality extended
to their many polo playing friends from around the world.
Our joint objective at Santa Helena Polo Farm is to make sure your holiday
is most beneficial to your personal polo requirements.
Whether you are a complete beginner, looking to learn about polo and
develop from the beginning or simply wish to enjoy good farm polo on
good grounds with good ponies, you will always be welcome and find yourself
in good company - and there is nothing better than enjoying a barbeque
by the pool after a fast game of polo with your friends.
THE POLO
Silvio Novaes finds that the only successful way to provide the right
solution for his guests is to tailor-make each polo course to suit the
individual’s personal needs, their standard and the length of
time they are staying.
There is a wealth of first class ponies available for daily practice
and stick and ball. A coach will always be on hand for personal tuition
and Silvio is always ready to impart his knowledge of the game whether
it is about tactics, practical stick and ball or theory. His family
have bred and trained polo ponies for over 50 years.
Training clinics can be set up for groups wishing to learn all polo
related tasks and skills from stable management to playing in a tournament
and this can be geared to any age group.
CHILDREN AT SANTA HELENA
The Junqueira Novaes family warmly welcomes children of all ages, either
polo playing or non-playing, to join their parents on trips to Santa
Helena and provides the benefits of wonderful freedom, fresh air, acres
of space to play in and roam, the swimming pool, the horses and other
facilities that can be driven to. Any special arrangements can be discussed.
Nanny and babysitting services can be arranged where required. Cost
can be provided where necessary.
BUYING PONIES IN BRAZIL
As there are usually many very good ponies available for purchase in
the region, you may be interested in coming out to Brazil to try-out
and buy polo ponies. We offer our Trading Package based on use of the
standard accommodation. The package also includes the delicious meals
and hospitality and all the other facilities on-site, swimming pool,
etc...
This package may also suit a Professional accompanying his patron for
out of season practice or assisting in buying polo ponies.

Non-playing guests are always welcome to come and stay and enjoy the
beautiful environment of the farm, the swimming pool, walking in a real
Brazilian rain forest on the farm and the tennis, squash, and golf nearby,
as well as the delicious food, the world renowned warm Brazilian hospitality
and all of the activities that are going on day and night.
Guests may want to travel to the nearby town and enjoy the many facilities,
